Minimalism here means one idea: a single white wall system and nothing extra. A matte, handle-free system 365 cm long and 260 cm tall swallows the wardrobe, a fold-down desk with a hidden LED niche and the TV niche into one calm surface. In front of it the room is almost empty: a low HAY Mags Soft sofa, a white HAY About A Chair on oak legs and a grey Muuto Airy coffee table. The walls are pale white-grey, the rug is a plain light rectangle and the only green is one snake plant at the far end. A cool-white cove adds soft light without any visible fixture. Because every function disappears when it is not in use, the open floor area is at its biggest and the existing parquet becomes the main visual feature of the room. This is the cleanest option and the right choice if you want a room that looks tidy by default. It relies on a custom-made wall system, so the quality of the joinery matters more here than the loose furniture.

Spend the budget on the wall system: handle-free hardware, even gaps and a perfect matte finish are what make this style work. Keep decorations to one or two objects and store everything else behind doors. Choose a single wood tone, such as light oak, for all small accents. Check the 365 cm length of the system against the real wall before ordering (approx. figure from the design).

The TV sits in a 125 cm niche built into the white wall system, so there is no separate TV unit. The same unit also holds the wardrobe and the fold-down desk.

The HAY Mags Soft sofa, the HAY About A Chair AAC22 armchair and the Muuto Airy coffee table are catalogue products with links. Only the wall system is made to order.
Can I work from home in this layout?
Yes. The fold-down desk is 110×50 cm and has its own LED niche, so it works as a laptop workstation and folds away when you are done. For a larger desk, choose a different style.
