Neoclassic is the polished, symmetrical take on the room. The walls are warm cream with white panel mouldings, a chandelier hangs from the ceiling, and brass details, such as the handles on the panelled wardrobe and the oval brass-and-marble coffee table, pick up the light. The IKEA ESSEBODA sofa in cream, with pale blue and sand cushions, stands on birch legs against the left wall and faces a cream TV unit with moulded panels. Under the window a white HEMNES bureau with two drawers and an INGOLF chair make a desk that looks more like a dressing table than a workstation. The whole palette of cream, ivory, dusty blue and brass stays soft, and the rug is a plain, pale tone. The furniture is mostly mass-market, but the mouldings and the chandelier do the heavy lifting, so the room reads as elegant without the weight of true period pieces.
