Cyberpunk / Gaming

About this design

Cyberpunk / Gaming is the most extreme design in the set. The room opens in night mode by default: near-black walls, a violet cove strip, a neon lamp, a 65 inch TV on the right wall with a floating neon-lit cabinet below it, and an angular sofa on the left with LED edges and pink and cyan cushions. Everything is organised around the workstation: a full-width IKEA UPPSPEL gaming desk under the window, 180×80 cm and electrically adjustable from 72 to 120 cm, with a Secretlab Titan Evo chair and a PC tower on show. RGB light slowly cycles through the colours of the spectrum on the desk and the TV wall. The wardrobe on the end wall has black fronts, smoked glass and cyan seams, and the rug is a dark plain rectangle that keeps the floor from competing with the light. It is a deliberately dramatic design for gamers, streamers and anyone who lives at a screen. The effect is strongest with the lights down.

Layouts

Layout scheme A

Scheme A: sofa on the left wall, TV on the right wall, desk by the window, floor-to-ceiling wardrobe on the end wall. In this style the desk is not tucked under the window: it spans the whole window wall, so the chair faces the room and the screens and tower are visible from the door.

Each style uses one of four proven layouts. The plans are schematic; the window is at the top, the entrance door on the right, the wardrobe at the bottom.

Best for

Gamers, streamers and anyone who spends most of their time at a screen. It suits a room used mainly in the evening, where the lighting can be controlled and the neon is the point.

Tips

Control the light: put all neon and LED strips on a smart hub so you can switch a day scene, a game scene and a movie scene. Keep RGB to two or three colours; more looks messy. Plan cable management first, because the desk, tower and TV need many sockets.

FAQ

Questions about the Cyberpunk / Gaming design

Why does the Cyberpunk design start in night mode?

The neon, LED edges and RGB light are the whole idea, and they only work in the dark, so the scene opens at night by default. Use the day/night switch under the 3D view to see the room in daylight.

Is the IKEA UPPSPEL desk real?

Yes. The 3D scene uses the IKEA UPPSPEL gaming desk with electric height adjustment, 180×80 cm, from 72 to 120 cm. The link is in the table above.

Can I use this style in a shared living room?

It works best when the room is yours alone, because the dark palette and neon dominate. To share the room, keep the desk and TV wall but replace the neon with softer warm light.
