Loft
About this design
Loft is the most textured design in the set. The left wall is exposed brick, the remaining walls are raw concrete, and the original artistic parquet underfoot warms the grey. Black steel runs through everything: the pine-and-black-steel IKEA KULLABERG desk and swivel chair, the FJÄLLBO TV unit and coffee table, and a wardrobe of rough boards with black steel brackets across the end wall. The centrepiece is the Article Sven sofa, a tufted tan leather three-seater that gives the room a single warm mass. Edison bulbs hang as open lamps for an amber evening light, and a dark striped rug anchors the seating zone. The desk is a peninsula, 110 cm wide, that sticks out from the right wall next to the window, so you can sit at it facing the daylight. A tree in the corner softens all the hard edges. Choose loft if you want drama, patina and a room that looks better with age, and accept that it is the darkest and heaviest look in the series.
Layouts
Layout scheme A
Scheme A: sofa on the left wall, TV on the right wall, desk by the window, floor-to-ceiling wardrobe on the end wall. In Loft the desk is a peninsula: it comes out from the right wall by the window rather than sitting under it, and the coffee table is centred in front of the leather sofa.
Each style uses one of four proven layouts. The plans are schematic; the window is at the top, the entrance door on the right, the wardrobe at the bottom.

Best for
Fans of industrial character, people who like leather and exposed materials, and anyone who wants a strong evening atmosphere. It suits a room with good natural light, which balances the dark palette.
Tips
Use only warm, filament-style bulbs and put them on a dimmer. Keep the metal consistently black and the wood in one warm tone. Break the grey with the tan leather and a few green plants. Real brick and concrete finishes are heavy and need a good surface, so check wall condition and fire-safety rules before you commit.
FAQ
Questions about the Loft design
Is the brick wall real brick?
In the 3D scene it is a brick finish on the left wall and concrete on the others. In a real room you can use brick slips, thin brick tiles or exposed original brick, depending on the wall.
Which furniture is IKEA and which is custom?
The desk, chair, TV unit and coffee table are IKEA KULLABERG and FJÄLLBO. The sofa is Article Sven. Only the wardrobe on the end wall is made to order.
How is the evening light in Loft?
Open Edison bulbs give an amber glow, and the dark walls absorb light, so the room feels cosy but dim. Add a floor or table lamp near the sofa for reading.
