Hi-tech (warm)
About this design
Hi-tech (warm) takes the cold, precise look of classic high-tech and softens it. The base is cool and minimal, with pale warm-grey walls, a dark graphite IKEA LANDSKRONA sofa and matte wardrobe panels broken by a mirror. The warmth comes from light: a cove strip in warm white, linear LED seams in the wardrobe and a backlit panel above the desk. The desk runs along the right wall next to the window, a custom 140×60 cm white top on chrome legs, and the work chair is a Herman Miller Aeron in size B. A glass-and-chrome coffee table keeps the middle of the room visually light, and the TV floats on the left wall with its own LED edge. Teal appears only as an accent, on a cushion and on the work chair in the scene. The rug is a striped pale and charcoal pattern, and one snake plant softens the corner. The result looks technical but not clinical, and it suits a home office that doubles as a living room.
Layouts
Layout scheme B
Scheme B (mirrored): sofa on the right wall, TV on the left wall, desk by the window, floor-to-ceiling wardrobe on the end wall. In Hi-tech the desk runs along the right wall next to the window with a backlit panel above it, and the TV floats on the left wall opposite.
Each style uses one of four proven layouts. The plans are schematic; the window is at the top, the entrance door on the right, the wardrobe at the bottom.

Best for
People who love sleek technology, work from home and want a modern look that still feels warm. It suits a living room that doubles as a home office.
Tips
Use warm-white LED (about 2700–3000 K) for all strips so the room never feels cold. Hide drivers and cables inside the joinery. Keep chrome limited to legs and small details, because large chrome areas show fingerprints. Add one colour accent only, here teal.
FAQ
Questions about the Hi-tech (warm) design
Why is it called warm Hi-tech?
Classic high-tech is cold, with grey, steel and white light. Here the base is neutral but all the light sources, the cove strip and the LED seams, use warm tones, so the room feels welcoming.
Which pieces have links?
The IKEA LANDSKRONA sofa and the Herman Miller Aeron chair have links. The desk and the wardrobe are made to order.
Is the Aeron chair worth it?
It is a premium ergonomic chair. For a lower budget, any chair with adjustable lumbar support, seat depth and armrests gives a similar daily comfort.
